All About US
How did we come to be here? Well, it happened like this…
Our Story
One day in 2022, Louise Maddryn (who had just finished her A-Levels) said “I really wish Tenbury had a pottery painting studio.” Claire, her Mum, replied with: “we’ve been saying that for years. Why don’t we set one up?”
So, 14 months and a lot of phone calls later, we did. Now, in the centre of Tenbury Wells, you can find Pitter Potter. A flamingo-themed paint-your-own-pottery studio, where everyone is welcome. It doesn’t matter whether you’re bringing the family, print-capturing your baby’s feet, hosting a special event or enjoying some ‘me time’: we’re passionate about giving you the most enjoyable experience we can.
As a mother-and-daughter duo (who really love pottery painting!) it’s our mission to get everyone being creative, no matter their age or ability. So potter down to Tenbury Wells, and try something new today!
Meet the Team
Louise Maddryn
If you need a footprint turned into a pheasant or Hogwarts painted on a teapot, Louise Maddryn is your gal! She’s our resident artist, interior designer, social media-doer, and comes up with 90% of the crazy ideas. Her favourite part of Pitter Potter is when someone asks her to do something she’s never tried before… (and the flamingos. She likes the flamingos.)
Claire
Claire is the reason that Pitter Potter is a functioning business! She has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the stock cupboard, and is in charge of all the glazing and firing. Did Claire expect to co-own a pottery-painting studio? Umm… no. But she’s very glad that she does! Her favourite thing about Pitter Potter is helping visitors go from Nervous Novice to Happy Painter.
Betty and Issy
You’ll meet these two on Saturdays and in school holidays, when they help keep the studio in order - we couldn’t do it without them! Betty’s favourite part of Pitter Potter is seeing people’s creative painting ideas (and a good catch-up over the washing up bowl!). Issy’s is being able to witness visitor’s faces light up when they come to collect their finished pieces.
And Don’t Forget About…
Steve
(who fixes stuff when it breaks, and installs shelves when we need them)
Lisa
(who does boring-but-important things with accounts)
Malcolm
(who keeps our kiln shelves in full working order)
Sarah
(who keeps the studio spick and span)
And there you have it:
Team Pitter Potter!
Our Values
-
All Ages
There’s no minimum or maximum age on pottery painting. We print the feet of tiny babies, host 90th Birthday parties, and welcome everyone in-between!
-
Dog-Friendly
If your furry friend is happy to sit by your feet while you paint, then they’re more than welcome to join you! Rest assured, they’ll have plenty of fuss and attention from us.
-
Wheels Welcome
Pushchairs and wheelchairs - there’s plenty of space for both. Double doors and no steps keep us ultra-accessible!
-
No-Pressure Atmosphere
We want everyone to have the best experience possible, and we’re happy to cater to any special requirements. Additional needs should never be a barrier to having a great time!
You said it…
