Let’s start with some…

Frequently Asked Questions

Is booking essential?

We think it’s a good idea: there’s nothing worse than turning up and finding us full! On a quiet day, you’ll probably be fine, but booking is really easy. Just give us a ring on the number below, send us a message or drop us an email

Do you have parking?

Not us personally, but if you put the postcode WR15 8SF into your satnav, it’ll take you straight to the swimming pool carpark, where you can park for as long as you like. (Bonus: it’s free!)

What if I’m only in Tenbury on holiday?

Never fear! We will always try to fire your pottery within a few days, so you may still be able to pick it up. If not, we’re very happy to post your pottery to you at home. (You will have to pay for the postage though).

Do you cater for hungry painters?

Paint and peanut butter sandwiches aren’t a great mix, so we don’t serve any food; but you’re very welcome to bring a packed lunch and eat it during your session. If you forgot your sandwiches, we’re happy to point you to one of Tenbury’s great cafés or restaurants.

How accessible are you?

Very! There are no steps up to the studio, and we’ve got room to park your pushchair. Wheelchair users are also very welcome, but it’s a good idea to let us know beforehand, so that we can find you the best table.

What about furry friends?

If your dog is happy to sit quietly by your feet and won’t bother the other customers, you’re welcome to bring them along: you can even book an appointment to make some paw-print pottery! If canines aren’t your cup of tea, let us know beforehand and we can find you a dog-free painting zone.

Do you do pottery-throwing courses?

We’re sorry, but no – there’s just not enough room! There are some other local courses that do pottery-throwing, though, and we’d be happy to point you in their direction.

Can I put my pottery in the microwave or dishwasher?

That’s not a great idea, by our experience. Technically it is dishwasher safe, but it may well get damaged or take on water, and that would be a shame after all the work you put it. And definitely don’t put it in the microwave, it won’t like that at all…

I have a complicated request…

We love those! Whether you want to book a pottery party; ask about studio hire or commission your perfect wedding china; you can do it by phoning us up, sending an email or popping in to ask in person.

From the A456 (Ludlow, Kidderminster, Cleobury, etc)

If you’re driving along the A456, you’ll see a red Texaco petrol station and creamy-white bridge, with a sign saying ‘Tenbury Wells’.  Cross the bridge and drive down Teme Street – you’ll see a Tesco on your left and a white cinema building on your right.  At the end of Teme Street, the road curves around, and you’ll see a black-and-white building on the right-hand corner. That’s us!  If you want to park in the swimming pool carpark, carry on over a small blue bridge, following the signs to Long Term (Cars).  After about 400 metres, you’ll see the carpark on your left.  From there, you can walk past the pool and alongside the Pump Rooms to reach us in just two minutes!

From the A4112 (Leominster, Hereford, etc)

You’ll find yourself on Oldwood Road, which brings you through St Michael’s, over Oldwood Common and down into Tenbury.  Keep following that road past the Pembroke Inn.  The road curves right past the Round Market, but you don’t need to turn off. When the road curves left, you’ll see a black-and-white building on the left-hand corner. That’s us!  Opposite to the studio, there’s a road going off to the right (over a small blue bridge). Take that turning and follow the road to the swimming pool carpark.  Once you’ve parked, it’s a short walk to the studio past the Pump Rooms.

From the B4204 (Martley)

The B4204 takes you down a big hill into the town. Directly after the 30mph signs, you’ll need to turn right into the swimming pool carpark. Then follow the same two-minute walk to the studio! (Just look for the flamingo signs: you can’t miss it.)
